Program For Intensive English (PIE)

The Program for Intensive English (PIE) at Indiana University Indianapolis provides academic English (ESL) classes for international students, visitors, and Indiana residents. The program offers 7 levels of English instruction, ranging from beginner to advanced. Curriculum includes Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing, and Grammar. After PIE, many students go on to succeed in their careers or continue their studies at colleges and universities including IU Indianapolis, University of Indianapolis, Butler University, Ivy Tech Community College, Trine University, and others around the world.

The mission of the PIE is to provide non-native English speakers with high-quality, principledresearch-based instruction and supportive advising that will help them develop the communication and academic skills as well as the cultural understanding necessary to be successful in academic, professional, and social settings.
